New and Prospective Bowlers
Cowpen and Crofton Welfare Bowls Club welcomes all new members, and prospective members, to join the club to enjoy the game and the social life associated with it.
There are no barriers to joining providing you respect the other members and abide by a few simple rules (mainly based on respect for others.)
If your not sure you will like the game, or be able to manage it, come along on any Saturday Morning starting at 10.00am for a FREE taster session once the season starts (For 2019, the expected start date for taster sessions is May 4th). You do not need any equipment as everything will be provided, just bring some flat soled shoes with no severe grips and enjoy.
You do not need to book, just turn up at the club (see the Contact Page for location details.)

But bowls is just a game for 'old men'?
Don't you beleive it. To loosly quote the great David Bryant, 'bowls is a young persons game that older persons can play as well'.
For example, the average age of the commenwealth bowls team was less than that of the national cricket team!
The game is open to everyone and this club will ensure there are no barriers to becoming a member be it age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality, social/economic status or whatever.
Anyone with a health problem or disability is also welcome and can really enoy the game and benefit from it. Bowls is a perfect game for those looking for gently exercise and mental stimulation.
Youngsters will love the game; parents, grandparents or carers, bring them along and join in as well. All the family can take part but beware, they may beat you!!
This club is Clubmark accredited so you can be sure your loved ones will be well looked after.
